This grant is for $500 and can be used for anything, although it’s encouraged to use for addressing pandemic-related learning loss experienced by the child. The income eligibility requirements are similar to eligibility for STC (300% of the Federal Poverty Line).

New income-based cash assistance program for diverse learners
We are excited to announce that following two years of Agudah advocating for this city appropriation, the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) will be rolling out an income-based diverse learners cash assistance program.
To be eligible to participate in the pilot program, you must meet all the eligibility requirements and be able to submit documentation supporting that you: 1. Reside in the City of Chicago
2. Have household income (Adjusted Gross Income) of less than 300% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) – see chart included in the attachment 3. Have a student that is currently enrolled in K-12 educational Institution with a disability defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). While the actual application for the grant will be rolled out in a couple of months, there is an opportunity for 25 families to apply during the beta testing stage. Please find the complete list of eligibility requirements here. If you feel your child may be eligible, please reach out to Mrs. Fiona Kark at fkark@agudahil.org or (773) 279-8400 ext. 266.
